A bit about us...

Thanks for visiting our site!

Lorna has been an avid animal and nature lover since childhood,  with a penchant for being creative, making 'stuff' and recycling items to be re-loved. She has a natural affinity with young children and thinks it is always important to remember that the young person we were is still inside each of us. She is a qualified and practising BTEC Level 3 Forest School Practitioner with a  Level 3 first-aid certification and an enhanced DBS check. She is also a qualified Permaculture Designer who is obsessed with growing edibles, medicinals and useful plants. You will probably find her scratching her head, trying to think of how she can find any more space for just one more plant! She loves minibeasts - her favourites are Bumble Bees, oh and Dragonflies. Well Hoverflies too, also Worms, Ladybirds, Millipedes, Stag Beetles...

Paul is a passionate, experienced naturalist who has spent many years studying Bushcraft and Woodlore Instruction, culminating in an expedition to spend time with the Maasai in the Rift Valley. Having completed the 'Woodland Wayer' course (www.woodlandways.co.uk), the most comprehensive 2 year course available in the UK, Paul went on to attain endorsement of his skills by way of the 'Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL) Bushcraft Competency Certificate'. He also holds a level 2 Remote Emergency Care (REC) Certificate. Paul currently is studying his Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification and helps deliver some of our sessions too. He loves trying to encourage as many species of birds as possible into the garden and is a keen night-sky watcher.

Both Paul and Lorna are members of the Institute for Outdoor Learning and enthusiastically continue to further their knowledge and skills for camp-craft & bush-craft and enjoy inspiring people to learn about the environment & conservation of our natural spaces and its diverse habitats.

At present they are working to develop their skills in self sufficiency and sustainability, micro-agriculture, organic farming, ethical food and fibre production, upcycling and understanding the broader benefits of circular economies.

Their love of and commitment to the natural environment remain at the core of every adventure...
